2/28/2023 0 Comments Jagged alliance 2 gold controlsHaving spanked the counter-assault on Drassen in 1.13, the rest has been really, really easy so far. Oh, and speaking to those same people, you might want to follow up on talk of a hideout NE in the swamp. The people of Drassen warn you not to go to Alma. Ah, maybe on the next run throughĪnyway, Cambria is a good place to go next. I meant to do an AAR, but I was playing around with vanilla Vs. I don't mean in a gun nut way, I couldn't care less about guns, but in so far as it gives you enough to mix up the accuracy, range, damage, ap cost and firing rates. Vanilla felt a little dry in that respect. I'm not massively experienced at vanilla JA2, having only tried a couple of games, and the demo a few years ago, but thus far I think 1.13 is just so much better! It looks awesome Plus they help keep the countryside clear. We're attacking Cambria (since every game until now I went from Omerta to San Mona and got my ass handed to me) and an adjacent militia force has joined the battle, so it really is one army storming the town defended by another army. A great option IMO.Īlso, loving the roaming militia. I can't stand blowing through ammo to defeat a huge enemy force, only for them to drop three clips of the wrong ammo type. I have turned on "Enemies drop all" because I think that's rather more fair, and balance be damned. Took down the enemy force for only a couple of wounds apiece. Holding it wasn't too bad either, they attacked before I had militia, but I'd revised my strategy this time and focused purely on marksmanship and agility, not worrying about having a great doctor. More of the mercs in 1.13 get rifles or guns which can engage at range, so I found taking Drassen easy. Playing through 1.13 on novice (since I've been having my butt spanked by both 1.13 and vanilla) I'm having an easy time of it so far. One strategy for holding Drassen against said horde is to put all of your mercs in the back of that one building in the center of town where there is only one way in and wait for enemies to come through the doors one at a time and unload in them when they do.īetter have a LOT of ammo to pull this off though. But unfortunately, if you are playing 1.13 and not turning off the option where Deidrianna attacks Drassen with a horde of blackshirts, you will have a devil of a time holding that town and mine(and will probably be losing your one-day merc hire to boot). Or you can hire one or two more expensive mercs for one day(and get their equipment/guns also) which is long enough to take out all of Drassen. For example, you can hire 'cheaper' mercs for a full week at the beginning then, instead of going after Drassen, go to that town-sector in the upper left(Chitzena?) and maybe also stop in that town run by Kingpin and do some of those money-making quests(the boxing matches if you have a HtH/Martial arts guy and some energy boosters will get you up to 25,000 dollars(or more if you 'work the system' so to speak). One great thing about JA2 is that you have some strategic options. My biggest problem early in the game seems to be having enough money to keep my cool mercs. Everything seemed to play out alright though.
